The Dutch tour of Celebrating Life has ended in 2018.

ABOUT THE SHOW

Festive exuberance and intimate songs

Take an hour and a half long journey along South Africa's Western Cape during the cold winter month,. The Khayelitsha United Mambazo Choir and Xhosa singers Lungiswa Plaatjies and Nomapostile Nyiki take you, together with the African rapper Jitsvinger, to the westernmost part of South Africa. In South African Road Trip - Celebrating Life you can indulge yourself with the wealth of languages, their cultures and (Christmas) traditions in this region.

The cast is accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Dionys Breukers and a beautiful stage-wide video set. You’ll see beautiful images that were filmed especially for this performance on the Western Cape.

Most of the cast is from Khayelitsha – Cape Town's largest township. There is plenty of Afrikaans, Xhosa, Zulu, English and the Afrikaans dialect spoken and the performance is interspersed with that. Interviews with residents of the Western Cape and the socially critical songs by rapper Jitsvinger - one of South Africa's greatest talents at the moment - ensures a big smile on your face, alternated with goosebumps.

Geseënde Kersfees en 'n gelukkige nuwe jaar!
